JOB SUMMARY:

Assists in producing diagnostic exams, including portables, c-arms, fluoroscopy, and routine radiographs (invasive and non-invasive). Assists the registered technologists and physicians in carrying out exams including barium studies, contrast media exams and sterile procedures.

The Apprentice Technologist applies principles of radiation protection and the ALARA principle.Apprentice techs must have direct supervision of a registered technologist for review of films prior to exam completion/patient release.

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure:

• None

Registration/Certification:

• BLS within 30 days of hire

Education:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited radiology program and complete the first year of the program.
