About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President for Research and Policy Engagement to lead in the critical mission of addressing climate change through systemic economic transformation. The successful candidate will be a recognized leader in environmental and/or resource economics and/or policy, with a strong commitment to the values of the organization. This role involves strategic leadership and management of the research and policy engagement program, including formulating and implementing strategic priorities, acting as a catalyst for new ideas, and integrating research programs with communications and fundraising. The VP will also be responsible for strengthening and expanding the organization's networks and partnerships, as well as managing a diverse and skilled research department. Collaboration with the executive team, external representation, and a deep respect for nonpartisan, high-quality research are essential. Candidates for the Vice President position should ideally have an advanced degree in the social sciences, with a PhD in economics, public policy, or a related discipline being desirable. The role requires an individual with a strong background in research and policy, capable of leading a team that values creative scholarship, teamwork, and open communication. Experience in managing research talent, overseeing performance evaluations, and fostering a culture of integration and innovation is crucial. The VP will also be involved in the acquisition and management of research funding, so experience in this area is beneficial.
